‘Lamaran’ is an Asian tradition where the family of the groom-to-be asks the family of the bride-to-be for her hand in marriage. There are many traditions, depending on how traditional the families involved are… Ours was just a simple one. We just wanted our (extended) families to get to know each other better. We made use of the occasion to above all honor God while worshipping together and listening to a short message from our pastor.
It turned out to be an emotional evening. Michael’s dad gave a beautiful necklace to Marhensia as a sign of two families being tied together. God is truly good. We are getting closer to becoming truly one. Step by step until the day we will tie the knot. Can’t wait….
